NNZ COACHING MODULES:
The following workshops are recognized NNZ Coaching modules and are specific to the coaching community:
Starting Out in Coaching
This workshop is designed to assist your development as a coach and it incorporates activities for practice sessions and game play. It covers understanding player development, netball specific development and understanding the coaching process. The SOICC is specifically targeted at the level of coaching and there are three levels offered: Future Ferns, Junior (Y7 & 8) and Secondary School/Senior. Netball NZ has developed a Tool Kit (available from Sports Distributors) which is used as a resource alongside these courses.
Player Centred Coaching
This is a pre-requisite for the Developing Modules and covers – Developing leadership in Players, Effective Coaching techniques and TGFU-Teaching Games for Understanding
My Little Team and Me
This workshop is to assist Fun Ferns (Years 1-2) and Future Ferns (Years 3-5) with some foundation tools to use in coaching practice to assist young players to learn and develop; including motor skills, fundamental movement and ball skills and rationale behind positional rotations. You will receive an excellent coaching resource that comes with attending the course, which contains warm-ups, skill and tactical aspects.
My Team and Me
The aim of this workshop is to assist Y7/8, Secondary school and beginner club coaches in developing an understanding and gain confidence in using netball related terms and descriptions. Gain ideas for starting a new netball season in relation to team building and establishing team culture, plus general season and practice planning. Learn how to structure and plan specific coaching sessions, how to follow and implement session plans from the Coaching resource which comes with the workshop and problem solving common problems that occur during the season.
