Centre Coach Liaison Officers appointed
Netball Counties Manukau Region is excited to announce the appointment of Coach Liaison Officers at each Netball Centre within the region. With funding from the Greater Auckland Coaching Unit (GACU), NCMR has been able to fund co-ordinators to help deliver the Netball NZ Coach Accreditation programme at your local Centre. We see this as a fantastic investment into the netball community and we will see benefits through increased coaching numbers and increased quality. The Coach Liaison Officers are managed by our Coach Development Officer, Robyn Garner, to find out who the Coach Liaison Officers are click here. 2010 Coach Appointments Netball Counties Manukau would like to congratulate Winnie Hauraki who has been appointed as the Counties Manukau NZC Coach for the 2010 season. In 2007 Netball NZ made some significant changes to the Coaching Accreditation System and how it is delivered throughout the regions. Now into it's 2nd year the Starting Out in Coaching courses are going well. More modules are now being introduced for 2008. For a copy of the current Coaching Accreditation Pathway, click here
The ‘Starting out in Coaching’ courses have replaced Introductory and Level 1 courses and are specifically targeted at the level of coaching. At present there are three levels offered - Future Ferns, Junior (Y7 & Y8) and Secondary School/Senior. Netball NZ has produced a Coaching Tool Kit (available from Sports Distributors) which is used as a resource alongside these courses. 2008 saw the introduction of Developing Modules which replace Level 2 courses. These modules are presented in a variety of formats - workbooks, online, workshops presented by NNZ and Regions. There are pre-requisites and assessments for some of the modules. The Coaching Toolkit is required. The first module 'Understanding the Players' is available online to complete in your own time. Click here to go to the online module.
