Advance Personnel Netball League 2009
APL Finals Weekend Results The Advance Personnel Netball League came to a close this weekend with a Finals round played over Friday night and Saturday. Friday night saw Division 1 Mellons Bay beating Owairoa by 51-48 taking out the all important third placing in the competition. The top three teams from APL in 2009 automatically qualify for next year Super 12 inter regional competition at the beginning of the season. The night finished with the big final match up of Aztec and Papatoetoe Rangers, Aztec continued with their unbeaten record to finish first in Division 1 after a hard fought match. Aztec beat Papatoetoe Rangers 40-36. Saturday morning saw 5 & 6 position play-offs for both Division 1 and 2 and 3 & 4 play-offs for Division 2. The day ended with the final of Division 2 between Papatoetoe Rangers 2 and Mellons Bay 2, another closely fought match, with Papatoetoe Rangers winning 41-38.
