WHAT IS THE ‘REGIONAL PREMIER NETBALL LEAGUE’?
This is a competition made up of 12 of our top premier club teams from around Counties Manukau. The competition comprises of two sections of six.
The competition is intended to: Increase the standard of club competition across Counties Manukau; Improve player development opportunities; Raise overall standard within Counties Manukau; Showcase netball at premier level throughout our region 2010 Competition When does the Competition start? The competition begins with a qualifying tournament that will be held over Queens Birthday weekend. This tournament will be held at Papakura Netball Centre. The cost of entry is $120 per team (non-refundable). Three teams have automatic entry into the main competition as they have already qualified for the Super 12 Club competition, these teams for 2010 are Aztec 1, Papatoetoe Rangers 1 and Mellons Bay 1. From the qualifying tournament a further nine teams will win a place into the main competition. There will be 12 teams in total in the main draw, divided into 2 sections. Teams that make the Netball League will pay a further $120 to enter. The competition starts on Friday 11 June 2010 and matches will be scheduled at three venues around the region on Friday evenings, with game times 6.30pm and 8pm. The competition will finish with a Finals Weekend in August. The three venues that will be used in this years competition are Netball Manurewa, Otara Leisure Centre and Te Puru Community Centre. For teams that are interested in entering the qualifying tournament at entry form will be available in April. Please make sure you download the rules of the tournament prior to entering.
